this outstanding piece from jackie misfit, london based deejay, producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist presents a harmonic collision between primal africa and western culture. complex in its structure, based on polyphonic singing technique called jodel and articulated together with the dance, pigmy music has much in common with contemporary dance music. the concept was to create the impression that the instruments were played by the tribe to give the impression of being around them. to gain that, jackie used a variety of drums, whistles, harps, instruments built of coconut shells, animal skins and sanza wood by pigmies and vocals recorded in congo rainforest during the tribal rituals. its crafted in the western manner but the inspiration. basic repetitive patterns, vocals and instruments used in this production are original. together with the title that translates as the community of love, and works as homage to the humanitarian organization in congo that is focused on preserving pygmies and their culture.

three guys with a common passion in deep sounds, funky and raw beats meet up with the aim of producing their own and friends stuff. baby move! ep is the first ep of the enfant prodige marco daquino, florence native dreamer who delivers two little gems of disco-house. the main track is a dreamy deep train that will take you over with its gentle strings and wonderful synth, while a voice from a glorious past will funk up the whole thing. on the other side this sound is my sound brings us in a slow-motion deep funk world and will definetely shake your body and make you smile.

finally, the live virtuoso olene kadar is back again with release #4 on his homebase mos ferry! not only the really massive kick makes the a-side >deal< a true stomper, that might put a smile on every detroit fans face also a guy called gerald would be thrilled! kadar uses common sounds and styles to stack his own unconventional sound-building - his own >house<. driving is probably the adjective that can express most accurately what constitutes the eight and a half minutes track with its funky organ chords. the b-side >sot:2< contains an equally virtuoso ass-shaker. somewhere between industrial aesthetics of the reverberated snare and the indefinable squawking sound its elements combine into a multi-dimensional piece of >club therapy< full of extremes. the unity of groovy kick and bass constitutes a high contrast to the vast extending percussion that moves at times in dramatic and absurd dimensions. approaching the drop, the almost out of control snare rolls and percussion drown any crowd in their own sweat dripping from the ceiling.
